Boost for West Ham as prolific striker hints at January transfer

According to reports, Fyodor Smolov has hinted that he would like to join West Ham this month.

The Hammers are expected to sell out of favour striker DiafraSakho this month and Smolov is one of the players who they have been linked with as they will likely look to find a replacement for the Senegal international.

Smolov is captain of the Russian national team and has netted 11 times in 28 international appearances.

He has been in superb form for Krasnodar and has netted 59 times from 90 games for his club.

At 27-years-old, Smolov is at the peak of his career and he will surely be feeling that the time is right for him to now test himself in England.

He also speaks fluent English which will certainly help him adapt to life at the London Stadium should a deal end up taking place.

Smolov is rated at £15 million and the Hammers could make a move if a sale of Sakho goes ahead.
