Tim Krul slams Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez for this reason

Tim Krul has said that he should not have been frozen out of the Newcastle first team fold by Rafa Benitez.

Krul moved to Brighton and Hove Albion during the summer transfer window after being deemed surplus to requirements at St James Park.

Many fans of the Magpies will  be questioning whether this was the right thing to do especially considering that Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot have both been unconvincing in goal so far this season.

Krul also has plenty of experience under his belt which also could have helped the Magpies as they aim to avoid relegation this season.

“I said to the gaffer ‘give me a chance, I’ll show you I’m back’,” said Krul, who suffered a serious knee injury playing for Holland in October 2015.

“Rafa had different ideas. He said ‘it doesn’t matter what you do’. That’s the business. We know we’re puppets to a certain extent.”
