Journalist Duncan Castles has said that Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is now worried that his dream of joining Barcelona will not come to fruition this month.
The 25-year old had hoped to join the Spanish giants last summer and even handed in a transfer request in order to try an force through a move.
Barcelona had three bids rejected and in the end the Reds insisted that they would not sell.
Coutinho did not play for Liverpool during their New Year’s Day Premier League win over Burnley as he was reportedly injured and hopes to have played his last game for the club.
“Philippe Coutinho’s price is going down in value in this window,” Castles told The Transfer Window podcast.
“I think it was at its peak in the summer when Barcelona were willing to pay 150 million euros, they now don’t want to pay more than 100 million..
“Honestly I don’t see another club coming in for him at that kind of price. Maybe PSG, maybe, but he’s not what they need. That’s why Coutinho is worried his moment has passed.”
