Everton join giants in the race to sign midfielder

Everton have joined Barcelona and Arsenal in the race to sign Nice midfielder Jean Seri.

The Gunners were heavily linked with the signature of Seri during the summer and were reportedly willing to fork out £35 million in order to sign him.

Arsene Wenger is said to be considering the 26-year old as a replacement to Santi Cazorla who is battling to return to full fitness after undergoing ankle surgery.

Arsenal’s interest in the player appears to have now cooled. Seri is likely to leave Nice in the near future and has ill-feelings toward the club as he blames them for his summer move to Barcelona falling through.

Everton have now entered the market and are looking for a new midfielder. They have been linked with the signature of Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi and could perhaps make a move for Seri should their attempts to sign N’Zonzi fall through.
