West Brom have reportedly made an inquiry about goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who is currently at Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United.
The 24-year old who has been on loan with Villa since last January has impressed for the Championship club and has also drawn interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham.
Johnstone has never featured for the United first team and it is unlikely that he will do so anytime soon so the Red Devils are likely to be open to selling for a fee of around £4 million.
United do have an option to recall Johnstone from Villa this month if they choose to do so. He has been in impressive form for Villa who are challenging for Premier League promotion and has managed to keep nine clean sheets from 24 Championship games.
Should Johnstone move to the Hawthorns, he will likely have to compete with Ben Foster for first team football.
