Everton boss Allardyce ready to spend £25m-£30million on attackers

According to Ian McGarry, Everton boss Sam Allardyce is eyeing three strikers who he could potentially sign during the January transfer window.

The Toffees have shown tremendous progress since Big Sam replaced Ronald Koeman as manager of the club.

The club however did play poorly for majority of the first half of the season under Koeman and interim manager David Unsworth and a large reason cited for why this was the case was because they failed to find a quality replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Though OumarNiasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have performed admirably, Niasse is not an ideal long-term option while Calvert-Lewin is still very inexperienced.

“Sam still desperately needs a striker, Calvert-Lewin is not a natural No.9 he’s been playing Rooney in behind him,” McGarry said.

“He’s got interest in two or three strikers, two in Spain, one in Germany, but he won’t be looking to spend a huge amount of money. I think he’ll maybe spend around £25m-£30m.

“But Sam loves to buy and sell a player so I’d say you could expect to see two or three players coming in but maybe a couple on loan and one purchase.”
