According to reports, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has enquired about Liverpool target Emerson Palmieri.
The Roma defender has been a target of Liverpool for a while and they even had an offer rejected for him during the summer transfer window.
Newcastle who are facing the threat of relegation this season will be aiming to bring in reinforcements during the January transfer window and it seems that Palmieri is one of the players who Benitez is keeping an eye on.
Roma are expected to listen to offers for Palmieri next summer and with Inter Milan and Juventus also interested, it is likely that they would prefer selling to a Premier League club over an Italian rival.
The 23-year old Palmieri has struggled for game time at Roma this season, making only three appearances in all competitions and Roma could just let him leave in January should they receive a good offer.
