Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has claimed that his team deserved to defeat Everton on Saturday after the two sides played out to a 0-0 draw.
“We had 26 shots, only eight on target,” the Italian told reporters. “I think we dominated the game and lots of chances to score. I think it is an unfair result. Everton deserve credit but we deserve to win.
“Maybe Jordan Pickford was the best player for them. We dominated the game and it is a pity to drop two points.
“It is normal to drop points with a poor performance but not today. It is not simple to dominate here, we needed a bit of luck.”
The reigning Premier League Champions dominated on the day but could not find the back of the net after an heroic performance from the Toffees backline.
The draw means that the Toffees extend their impressive start under Sam Allardyce and they have yet to be defeated under the guidance of the veteran manager.
The result meanwhile keeps Chelsea in third position on the standings and Conte was adamant after the game that his side deserved three points.
