Rangers have made their first signing of the winter transfer window as Cardiff City defender Declan John has put pen to paper for a permanent contract.
The 22-year-old Wales international arrived Ibrox during the summer on an initial season-long loan, but will now remain with the club until 2021.
John’s lack of regular first team football pushed him towards the exit at the English Championship side as manager Neil Warnock declared him surplus to requirements upon his arrival.
However, the fullback has become a key member of the Rangers squad, proving to be a timely and wise addition as he has been first-choice left-back since captain Lee Wallace picked up a long-term injury.
John has been influential at both ends of the pitch thus far, playing 14 games and weighing in 3 goals.
The youngster will no doubt prove to be a quality signing, and at 22, he has a lot to offer as he keeps growing his game going forward.
