Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic has said that his club’s doors are open to good players while adding that his team-mates would be delighted if Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho could join them at the Camp Nou.
Coutinho has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants and could have made a move during the summer had Liverpool not rejected their advances.
The Brazil international’s future is currently the subject of speculation and though Liverpool have not named their asking price, he could leave for a fee that will surely be massive.
During an interview with GuillemBalague, Rakitic said that a player such as Coutinho joining his club would be “perfect”.
“Every good player is welcome. So we have to say that the doors are open for every good player, and Coutinho is a good player. With all respect to his club Liverpool, and his fans, we would be really happy if he came,” Rakitic said.
“But with all the respect if he stayed at Liverpool we would wish him all the luck in the world. We have to think about the players that are already here, I think we have a really good team.
“We have to do it together. If there is an opportunity to do it with Coutinho, or another player, perfect.”
