Newcastle reportedly targeting high-flying Ligue 1 winger in January

Newcastle are looking to improve their squad in January in order to turn their campaign around, and have reportedly identified Troyes winger Samuel Grandsir as a target.

The French forward has been one of the revelations of the season in Ligue 1 this term, helping his side with 2 goals and 4 assists in 17 league appearances.

The 21-year-old has been a consistent performer for Troyes, impressing scouts with his displays and all-round technical abilities on the ball.

Grandsir is currently worth £4million and should be an affordable target for the Toons. However, they have Bournemouth to battle for the signature of the French sensation.

The Cherries are also at the risk of relegation and are interested in Grandsir’s services. The explosive youngster is able to play on both flanks, and can help provide both Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu needed cover and competition at Saint James Park if he’s snapped up.
