According to Football Insider, Newcastle United have been linked with a shock move for Chelsea defender David Luiz.
Magpies manager Rafa Benitez previously worked with Luiz during his time at Chelsea as the Blues went on to win the Europa League and he is said to be keen on a reunion with the Brazil international.
A permanent move is unlikely considering that Luiz will likely cost in the region of £40 million or possibly even higher.
Luiz appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge amidst his injury problems and boss Antonio Conte has opted to play a backline consisting of Andreas Christiansen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Apilicueta.
The defender is likely to find first time football hard to come by when he returns and Chelsea may opt to part ways with him rather than retain his services.
