West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that Joe Hart will start in goal when his side faces of against Arsenal in an EFL Cup quarter-final tie against Arsenal on Tuesday.
After arriving at the Hammers on loan from Manchester City during the summer, Hart has so far been shaky this season and has since been demoted to second choice keeper of the Hammers behind Adrian.
Moyes has however confirmed that Hart will get an opportunity to start during the EFL Cup tie while Andy Caroll is also set to feature following a three week spell on the side lines.
Meanwhile Manuel Lanzini will miss the match as he faces a two-match ban for alleged diving during the weekend against Stoke.
“Joe Hart will definitely start tomorrow night. He’s been very good around the place and he’s ready to play,” Moyes told reporters. “We’ve got the same sort of squad but with a couple of injuries and a couple of young players around.
“Andy Carroll could return. He’s had a bad back but he trained today and we will make a call on him tomorrow. Ideally we would have changed one or two players, but we’re a bit short and our priority is the Premier League, but nothing would give me more pleasure than reaching a cup final.”
