Arsenal legend Wright has accused West Ham star of diving

lan Wright has accused Manuel Lanzini of diving to win a penalty during West Ham’s 3-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

The Hammers opened the scoring after winning a very controversial penalty after Lanzini fell to the ground following a challenge from Erik Pieters.

Mark Noble managed to successfully convert the resulting spot-kick but Wright feels that the Hammers were very lucky to have been awarded the penalty.

“I think Mark Hughes has every right to be unhappy because I do believe it was a dive,” Wright said. “Pieters doesn’t challenge him at all. Lanzini is already on his way down.

“I’m pleased for West Ham and Moyes. He’s really got those players going.”

Despite the penalty awarding being controversial, the Hammers were largely the dominant team throughout the match and netted twice during the second half through goals from Marko Arnautovic and Diafra Sakho.

The recent resurgence of the Hammers has seen them move out of the relegation zone.
