Whether in-form striker Lewis Grabban remains at Sunderland beyond the January transfer window will come down to whether Chris Coleman manages to reach an agreement with Bournemouth over a permanent transfer.

Despite Sunderland struggling to avoid relegation, Grabban has been in great form this season and has scored 11 goals from 17 games in the Championship.

His performances have attracted interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Fulham and Wolves.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that he will soon to having a chat with Grabban to determine what will happen during the new year.

The Cherries will need to sell soon if they want to cash-in on a sale of Grabban as he has just 18 months remaining on his current deal.

Howe said: “We will make the right decision for him and for us. I think it will be something we will sit down and talk about. We have got some excellent strikers here.

“I have got some real options in that position, especially when you consider you have got the quality of Lys Mousset who is out of the squad at the moment. That is something for a later date when we will have a chat with Grabbs.”
