Everton to reportedly provide competition to Swansea for prolific striker

Swansea are set to face competition from Everton in the race to sign Porto striker Vincent Aboubaker.

Aboubaker has been in stellar form this season and has scored 20 goals from 22 appearances across all competitions which included five strikes in the Champions League.

Aboubaker was also linked with a move to the Swans during the summer transfer window and while the move did not take place, he commented publically on them, saying: “I’m going to England, Swansea has a proposal, I do not want to miss it. I talked to my manager, I do not want to miss the offer Swansea offers.”

Everton boss Sam Allardyce meanwhile has indicated that his club will be looking to sign a new striker in January and he is a known admirer of Aboubaker.

The Toffees have struggled to score goals regularly following Romelu Lukaku’s departure to -Manchester United.

Though it remains to be seen if Champions League teams will be interested Everton could stand a chance considering that the player previously expressed interest in joining Swansea.
