London rivals West Ham and Tottenham are set to do battle over the signature of PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn when the transfer window opens next month.
The 20-year-old has also attracted the likes of Torino – who had a £9million offer knocked back in summer – and Bournemouth, and could be a fine addition to help add depth to the attacking ranks of the London duo.
Despite just 2 goals and assists in 14 games for PSV this term, Bergwijn has constantly being a thorn in the flesh for opposition defenses with his skills, and is a reason they have gone 5 points clear at the top after 15 games.
Spurs could do with the versatility of the Netherlands international who has bagged 21 goals in 41 appearances across the age-grade competitions, with his ability to play efficiently across the forward line a key quality.
The Hammers’ lack of quality depth in attack is a problem Bergwijn can solve, but it remains to be seen if PSV will be letting go of a player crucial to their Eredivisie title hopes.
Nevertheless, the Premier League suitors are expected to test their resolve next month, and a return for his signature by summer can be expected even if they fail.
