This Sunday, December 10, 2017 (4:15 PM Pacific) Millonarios will host America de Cali at the Estadio El Campin for the second leg of the Liga Aguila II semifinal. Millonarios achieved the 2-1 win against America in the first leg and will now have the home-field advantage in the second leg.
The first leg between the two teams was very even and intense and this should stay consistent in this second leg fixture. As mentioned before, Millonarios do have the slight one-goal advantage heading into this game but will also count with the vital home-field advantage in Bogota. Los Embajadores will inclusively count with Jhon Duque and Duvier Riascos, who will be back for this game after serving their suspensions.
Duque will add defensive solidarity in the midfield while Riascos is a very experienced striker with a clinical finishing ability that can be useful in these games. Riascos should help solidify the already threatening attack that features players like David Silva and Ayron Del Valle. Both Silva and Del Valle scored in the first leg and should be two of the main players to watch this Sunday at El Campin. Millonarios have a lot of things going in its favor and everything suggests that it will be the Bogota derby in the final between Millos and Santa Fe.
America de Cali is not finished just yet but will have a tough task with the goal disadvantage and away from home. Los Diablos Rojos will also be without centre-back Eder Castaneda as he received a red card in the first leg. Ex-Millonarios defender Efrain Cortes will likely replace him and it will surely be interesting to see how the 33-year-old centre-back does in this vital game against his former team.
Cristian Martinez Borja was Los Escarlatas top scorer throughout the regular season and he was the man that scored the lone goal for America in that first leg. Martinez Borja was one of the standouts along with midfielder Jonny Mosquera in America’s 2-1 loss and will need to have similar performances in this game. It seems very unlikely for America de Cali to make a comeback but given the intensity of the game and what the Superclasico means it is always hard to say who will come out on top.
