Carragher makes worrying admission for West Ham star

Joe Hart

Jamie Carragher has said that Joe Hart’s future for both club and the England national team.

Hart has served as first choice goalkeeper for the Hammers this season and has seen his performances come under criticism.

The 30 year old has been between the sticks 14 times for the Hammers this season but they have only won two of those games and face a relegation battle.

He was dropped for the Hammers’ 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday in favour of Adrian and this could hamper his chances of being first choice keeper for the Three Lions at the 2018 World Cup.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of the clash against Chelsea (09/12, 12:00), the former Liverpool star said: “You’ve got two very good goalkeepers (at West Ham).

“From Joe’s point of view, when he made the decision to come here he’s thinking ‘I’m going to play this season, make sure I’m number one for the World Cup’.

“His position is under threat, and that is a problem for the World Cup.

“He’s got to find a way back into that team otherwise he won’t be the one starting England’s first game at the World Cup, it’s as simple as that.”
