Chris Sutton has said that he hopes that Celtic get drawn to play against Arsenal in the Europa League.
Despite having lost 1 -0 in the Champions League against Anderlecht on Tuesday night, the Hoops finished third in their group and will drop to the Europa League last 32.
Despite the Scottish giants having been disappointing in the Champions League and suffering heavy defeats at the hands of Bayern Munich and PSG, this outcome reflects gradual progress as they finished bottom of their group last season.
Sutton has said that he hopes that the Hoops get drawn against an English club and that can only be Arsenal after Everton were eliminated from the competition.
He said: “I’d love Celtic to draw an English team, Arsenal, and wham them… let’s hope they draw them.”
Arsenal are in the Europa League this season for the first time under Arsene Wenger after they finished fifth in the Premier League last season.
