Leeds United handed massive triple injury boost ahead of QPR clash

Leeds return to action on Saturday when they travel to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers as the Championship enters its 21st round of games.

Having picked up 2 wins and a draw in their last 4 games, the Whites will be hoping to prove they are back in contention for the playoff spots with a win over 18th placed QPR.

Manager Thomas Christiansen will need his best players for the game, and fears have been allayed over Pablo Hernandez missing weekend’s clash.

The midfielder limped out of last Friday’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa shortly before half-time after suffering a hamstring problem.

The Danish boss believes the Spaniard made a great decision to leave the pitch as it prevented him from worsening the injury and potentially facing a lengthy lay-off.

Eunan O’Kane missed the matchday squad for the game entirely due to a hip problem, but it’s believed he should be fit for weekend’s clash alongside Stuart Dallas, who had an ankle knock.

Christiansen told the Yorkshire Evening Post concerning the trio: “Hernandez had a muscle problem which he felt a little bit. In that moment he was clever and he understood that it’s better to come out so it didn’t get worse.

“In these games I need players who are 100 per cent ready. But I believe that Stuey will be close (for QPR), Eunan will be there. Pablo I also believe will be there.”

Having the trio available is a big boost to a Leeds side that can’t afford further injury heartbreaks, and squad depth will come handy ahead of a busy run of fixtures.
