Celtic amongst favorites to land youth World Cup Golden Ball winner

Solanke

As per Ladbrokes, Celtic are 2nd favorites to land Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke in subsequent transfer windows.

The 20-year-old is behind Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge in the pecking order, and could be headed out on loan by winter in order to boost his world cup chances with England.

Solanke left Chelsea in search of first team chances, but he hasn’t exactly found things any easier at Anfield.

The young forward shone as England won the FIFA U-20 World Cup during the summer, going home with the Golden Ball.

Celtic are well-stocked in the striking department with PSG youngster Odsonne Edouard finding it hard to get minutes due to the forms of Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

So, it’s highly unlikely to see manager Brendan Rodgers going for another striker in January.

However, with Dembele a target of suitors ahead of the next summer transfer window, going for Solanke as his replacement could be the perfect move given the talents and huge potential of the English striker waiting to be unleashed.
