Rangers are taking forever to sort out their managerial issues, with over a month gone since Pedro Caixinha was fired.
The Ibrox outfit have lost their last 2 league games and face the prospect of experiencing further woes with a double-header against 2nd placed Aberdeen up next.
Finishing behind Celtic already seems impossible for Rangers, even though only a third of the campaign has been played.
Interim manager Graeme Murty is set to be in charge during midweek’s and weekend’s clash with the Dons, but it’s believed the club still have eyes on Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes.
Landing the former Rangers man at the moment is no longer possible after he declared his intentions to remain at Pittodrie for the time being.
Dons legend Willie Miller has branded the Ibrox club amateurs for having no clear intentions and plan as regards appointing a new manager.
Miller believes the Rangers board should have had a backup plan in place long before they fired the Portuguese.
In his words: “It is now a month since Pedro Caixinha was axed and still Rangers do not have a new manager.
“It is incredibly inefficient of Rangers and they really need to look at their set-up.
“For a club of their size to take this long with no clarity in sight is almost amateurish.
“It makes Rangers look like they are not professional enough to come up with a name that is going to take them forward.
“Let’s be honest, they would have known before sacking Caixinha it was going to happen.
“It was pretty clear he wasn’t the right man for the job so they have had plenty of time to come up with a plan.
“Rangers have had more than enough opportunity to look around to see who is available and put a deal together. They haven’t and are looking rudderless.”
With McInnes now officially ruled out of the race, it remains to be seen what direction Rangers’ search for a manager will head.
