Football expert recommends tactical change that could help Rangers improve immensely

Although Rangers suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Dundee on Friday, Scottish football expert Chris Sutton still saw some positives.

The Light Blues drew level via Josh Windass after going a goal down but it wasn’t enough at the end of the day.

Nevertheless, Sutton believes the central midfielder is better permanently deployed on the flanks in order for Rangers to get the best out of him.

Speaking post-match during BT Sport’s review of the clash, the former Celtic striker claimed: “I’ve got to say, I don’t like him (Windass) in that 10 position. I don’t think he’s clever enough to play as a 10. I think he’s better off in a wide area.”

The 23-year-old has largely been deployed on the wing since the start of this term, and given that he has bagged 4 league goals, keeping him in the new position makes perfect sense.

A lack of depth in attack has seen Windass take up a position on the wing, and it could prove a blessing in disguise going forward for the club, as permanently playing him in the role could help bring out the best in the midfielder.
