Chelsea winger Eden Hazard believes the London side should have given Mo Salah more of a chance during the Egyptian’s time with the Blues.
Ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool, star man Eden Hazard has hailed Liverpool winger Mo Salah’s performances for the Reds as the attacker has managed a sensational 14 goals in just 19 appearances so far this season.
Hazard has also claimed that the Egyptian international should have been given more chances during his time with the Blues.
Salah was in the ranks of Chelsea from 2014 to 2016 but the Egyptian was unceremoniously sold to Roma without even being offered enough chances to succeed at Stamford Bridge.
The attacker is now back in the Premier League with Liverpool and the Pharaoh has already lightened up English football with his pace and finishing.
This great form for the Reds has impressed both fans and fellow professional alike and Chelsea star Eden Hazard acknowledged this in a recent interview where he acknowledged that the attacker was treated unfairly by the Blues during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard said, “He is still my friend. We are still in contact together. He’s a top, top, top player. He did not get his chance at Chelsea but we know, in the team, the quality he has. He is a fantastic striker and this season he has scored a lot of goals.
“He did not get the chance [at Chelsea]. Maybe because of the manager, because of the players, I don’t know. But he is a top player for sure.
“In training he did everything. Even in the games when he was playing, sometimes he scored goals, so we know the quality he has. His feeling was good. When you are not playing at a club you need to go,” he said.
“You need a chance and he took his chance at Fiorentina, so he did everything that you have to do when you are not playing. If I was not playing, I’d want to go. That’s normal because all the players want to play. With him he did well and I am just happy for him.”
