The West Ham board is prepared to make funds available for new manager David Moyes to sign William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon during the January transfer window, according to the Express.

West Ham have appointed Moyes as replacement for the recently sacked Slaven Bilic amidst much controversy but it looks like the owners have given the Scotsman the job in their attempts to bring stability to the club.

Now according to reports, the Hammers owners have reportedly given Moyes a huge backing to sign big name players during the upcoming January transfer window, which is expected to start with the signing of Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho.

Carvalho has been long under the radar of West Ham, with the London based club making an approach during the summer transfer window before eventually getting turned down.

The transfer saga took an ugly turn later on when Sporting reported West Ham of illegal approach for the player and both clubs since then seem to have bad-blood between them. Nonetheless, West Ham are set to return with another swoop for the Portuguese international.
