Everton are going to make a second attempt to sign Watford manager Marco Silva after their opening compensation package of £8.5 million was rejected by the Hornets.
Everton got rid of Ronald Koeman last month following underwhelming start to the campaign but the Toffees haven’t still hired the Dutchman’s replacement as of yet, which has worried the club faithful.
A host of names have been linked with the high profile job and the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Sam Allardyce are regarded to be the frontrunners.
Despite such big names being associated with the Toffees, it is believed the Merseyside club want Watford Marco Silva as their new manager.
Silva has witnessed an astronomical rise to his stock since his move to the Premier League last season with Hull City where his management skills impressed many despite the Tigers getting relegated from the top flight.
The Portuguese tactician was snapped up by Watford earlier this season and having impressed with the Hornets as well, Everton are desperate to land his services.
Everton have already approached Watford for their manager but their compensation of £8.5 million was rejected by the Premier League highflyers but the Toffees are not giving up on their hopes of landing the ‘mini-Mourinho’.
