Reading boss responds for Celtic’s interest in Liam Moore

Celtic vs Hearts

Reading manager Jaap Stam has reportedly warned Celtic that he has no desire to sell £5 million rated star Liam Moore during the January transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers reportedly stated his desire to buy a new defender at the Parkhead annual General Meeting after Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko all had to miss key Champions League games through injury.

One of the players that Rodgers had been watching is Moore, who has displayed impressive form for the Royals in the Championship.

Staam will however be unlikely to be willing to easily part ways with the defender, especially given that his club are looking to launch a promotion push this season.

“If he is mentioned I can understand it because he has the ability to step up,” said the Royals boss. “But if you want to build a club and go somewhere you’re not going to sell your best players.”
