Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a better player than Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Bakayoko was brought in to Chelsea during the summer as a replacement for Nemanja Matic, who joined Manchester United.
The Blues meanwhile sent Loftus-Cheek on a season long loan to Crystal Palace in order to gain more experience and prove that he can succeed at the highest level.
Despite Palace languishing at the bottom of the standings, the youngster has impressed and ended up earning a call up to the England national team for friendlies against Germany and Brazil. He made his debut on Friday against the 2014 World Cup Champions and was impressive.
“I watched Bakayoko the other day up front or playing further forward against Manchester United and he never done anything in that game that made me think that he’s a better player than Loftus-Cheek,” Wright told ITV Sport.
“Now I’m not knocking Chelsea because Chelsea can do whatever they want but the fact is that surely you’ve got to give the guy a chance. I’ve seen him and he’s better than Bakayoko for me.”
