Naby Keita is not going to join Liverpool earlier than the previously agreed deal at the end of the season.
Naby Keita agreed terms with Liverpool earlier this season and the news of the Guinea international joining the Reds at the start of the next term was confirmed by both Liverpool and RB Leipzig.
However in recent weeks, new rumors have emerged regarding Keita – with many suggesting that the 22-year-old might fast-track his move to England during the January transfer window under request from Liverpool.
This was due to Liverpool’s need of a proper ball winning midfielder to ensure that they can finish in the Champions League places.
Nevertheless, these rumors have now been laid to rest by RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick, who claimed that there was no way Leipzig will let go of their best player before the end of this campaign as previously agreed.
Rangnick told reporters from Sports Buzzer, “Even if we don’t progress in the Champions League, it would make no sense to let Naby go to Liverpool earlier. We want to try and qualify for Europe again next season through the Bundesliga, of course. And we need Naby for that.”
