Belgian national team boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that he is hoping to help Everton attacker Kevin Mirallas during the international break by helping him to regain confidence. Mirallas is currently going through a difficult patch of his career with the Toffees.
Along with team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin, he was left out of the squad for the Merseyside clubs last Premier League game against Watford, reportedly for having a poor attitude during training.
After showing a lack of effort, interim boss David Unsworth is said to have told the duo to leave the training ground.
Martinez is now hoping that Mirallas can regain confidence during the international break. “First and foremost we need to help him,” the former Everton boss said.
“Kevin Mirallas is a winner and at the moment he’s going through a little bit of a difficult time and we need to understand him and try and give him a bit of support.
“From that point on he’s got an opportunity to impress and go back to performing in the way that he can. It’s been difficult; I know the situation inside-out. When he finishes he needs to go back and make sure he finds his best in the first XI.”
