Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has gone on to slam Liverpool team for their lack of defensive solidity.
Liverpool’s defense have come under increasing scrutiny due to their inability to keep clean sheets and many believe that it is the one area that the Reds need to improve in order to win the title.
Many believe that the Reds don’t have enough quality in defense to complement their superb attack and this certainly has proven to be the case.
One of those who have been let down by this unbalance is former Manchester United player Roy Keane – who pointed out that without proper defense, the Reds cannot challenge for titles.
Former Manchester United midfielder told: “It’s hard to figure out Liverpool at the moment. It’s hard to get excited about them. To me, they are going nowhere fast.
“They’re neat tidy, but defensively…, come the end of the season when the prizes are being given out, Liverpool will be nowhere team.
“If Liverpool were playing out in my back garden , I wouldn’t watch them. They’re just drifting. Drifting nowhere.”
Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League and are hoping to finish into the Champions League places.
A lot of the Red’s failure has been attributed to the lack of quality defensive reinforcements and they will need to sort out their problems to make sure that they can attain their early season expectations.
