As per Le10 Sport, Newcastle will return for summer target and Saint-Etienne forward Jonathan Bamba in January, as they can be able to land the 21-year-old for a cut-price deal.
Bamba is currently running down the final year of his contract, and has declared his intention not to sign a new deal.
The Lille and Sevilla target will leave the Ligue 1 outfit for free at the end of the season, but Saint-Etienne can decide to cash in for a modest price during the winter transfer window.
Bamba has been in fine form this term since returning to the club from a loan spell with Angers, scoring 4 goals and assisting 1 in 9 league games.
The French youngster is able to play through the middle of the attack and on the flanks, with his pace, finishing and strength key to his exploits in front of goal.
Newcastle have averaged just a goal per game this term, and can do with more goalscoring threats within their ranks.
Should a deal for Bamba go through in January, the Magpies’ forwardline can be guaranteed of receiving much-needed boost going forward in the campaign.
