Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has singled out Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford for their efforts on Saturday as the Red Devils recorded a 1-0 win over Tottenham in a Premier League clash.
The match looked headed for a stalemate until Martial managed to find the back of the net late during the second half.
The result means that United remain in second place on the standings and are five points adrift of leaders Manchester City. Tottenham meanwhile are now eight points adrift of City.
Ferdinand was delighted with the performance of his former side who are looking to launch a title push this season and he hailed the performances of Martial and Rashford, writing on Twitter: “Professional performance from Man Utd today… back on track after blip last weekend!“Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial combining again!”
United are next in action on Tuesday evening when they take on Benfica in a Champions League clash at Old Trafford.
