Richard Keys claims Rangers should appoint this available man as manager

Rangers are taking their time in appointing a successor to the dismissed Pedro Caixinha, and many names continue to come up from many quarters.

The Ibrox outfit can’t afford to get it wrong this time around, as it soon became obvious that the Portuguese wasn’t the right choice for a lot of reasons.

Veteran sports presenter Richard Keys has weighed in on whom he thinks will be perfect fit for the Rangers dugout.

The senior football anchor at beIN SPORTS took to Twitter to post: “If Rangers want available safe & successful – a serial winner – there’s only Alex McLeish.”

Since getting relieved of his duties as manager of Egyptian giants Zamalek last May, McLeish has yet to return to the touchline.

The former Rangers boss has garnered a lot of experience having managed in the English Premier League, Championship and Belgian Pro League since leaving Ibrox following a trophy-laden input between 2001 and 2006.

The 2002-2003 season remains the Gers most successful campaign in the 21st century after McLeish led them to a 7th domestic treble.

The Light Blues can surely do with his expertise if they truly wish to return to the top of Scottish football.
