Motherwell star highlights why he is confident his side can beat Celtic

Celtic vs Hearts

As Celtic secured their place in the Scottish League Cup final on Saturday, it came as a surprise that their eternal rivals Rangers failed to set up an anticipated Old Firm final after losing 2-0 to Motherwell the next day.

One man – Louis Moult, was instrumental in ensuring it wouldn’t be an all-Glasgow affair next month at Hampden, and he has vowed to give his all in causing an upset when the Hoops attempt to cross the final hurdle in defending the League Cup.

The striker bagged a brace to crush the hearts of fans that were expecting a Celtic-Rangers cup final, and is confident the Steelmen can beat the Parkhead outfit to the prize.

The 25-year-old English striker told the press post-game: ‘Can we beat Celtic in the final? Of course! We beat them two seasons ago and I scored two goals at their place.

‘I know Celtic are a different side now with a different manager (Brendan Rodgers) but we are a different side, too.’

Motherwell are 4th on the SPFL having won 5 of 9 league games this term, and while they are far from title contenders, they remain one of the favorites for the runners-up position alongside Aberdeen and Rangers.

Moult has played a crucial part in their impressive campaign so far, notching 5 league goals in 9 games.

The ex-Stoke City hitman was targeted by the Dons and Gers during the summer transfer window, and is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the land.

If Celtic are to win the Betfred Cup come November 26, then they must find a way to keep Moult quiet all game, as he has all it takes to wreck damage on any defence.
