Russian club Spartak Moscow has been slapped with a partial Stadium closure by Fifa after their fans were found guilty of racially abusing Liverpool youth player Bobby Adekanye.
The 18 year old was abused while playing for the Reds under 19 side during a UEFA Youth League game against Spartak in September.
A statement from UEFA said: “The control, ethics and disciplinary body upheld Liverpool’s subsequent complaint and a section of Spartak’s stadium will be closed for their next home game in Europe.
“Spartak Moscow shall inform at least seven days prior to the match the sector to be closed, which shall at least comprehend 500 seats.”
The Reds under 19 side who are managed by club icon Steven Gerrard ended up losing the game 2-1. The Liverpool senior side recently drew 1-1 against the Russian outfit and will play against them again in the Champions League in December.
In addition to the aforementioned fine, Spartak have also received a €33,000 fine for holding up a “UEFA Mafia” banner as well as setting off fireworks and blocking stairways during the Champions League game against Liverpool last month.
