Everton manager Ronald Koeman is confident that he has the backing of the club’s board following a meeting with club chairman Farhad Moshiri.
After a summer of heavy spending, the Toffees were expected to challenge for a top four position in the League this season, however they have so far under-performed and currently occupy 15th position on the standings after taking just eight points from their opening eight League games.
Koeman is currently under immense pressure and speculation has grown during recent weeks that he could soon be sacked should the fortunes of the club not improve during the near future.
Koeman said as reported by The Independent: “We spoke about football. There was not really a message but the feeling is that they (Everton’s board) are behind the team, they are behind the manager.
“Everybody knows in football that’s a nice thing but in football always, finally, it’s all about results. Until now it’s full, total support from the board, yes.”
