Aston Villa star backs manager Steve Bruce

Aston Villa attacker Robert Snodgrass has backed manager Steve Bruce to bring success to the club this season, stating that the players in the squad are behind their manager.

Villa started the season on a disappointing note, however they have experienced a resurgence of form recently and have moved up to seventh place on the Championship standings, meaning that they are in contention to launch a promotion push.

Bruce also found himself under pressure during the early parts of the season but it now looks like he is turning things around.

Snodgrass has now praised Bruce saying, “Of course we can (take on the division). The manager set the challenge to us and as players it’s up to us to push each other and drive each other forward. We have to try to get the best out of each and every one of us.

“The manager has done this before in this division. What’s great about him is he gives you a platform to play, he backs you. He’s a great man, a great manager and now you’re starting to see it. We’re right behind him, the fans are right behind him and we’re looking forward to the games ahead.”

Snodgrass moved to Villa as a late signing on loan from West Ham after failing to impress at the Hammers.

He now appears to have regained confidence since moving to Villa Park and has registered a goal as well as an assist from six appearances for the club.

Snodgrass has been key to the form of Villa improving and should he continue delivering, Villa will launch a promotion push.
