Tottenham are plotting a move for Barcelona star

According to reports, Tottenham are considering a move for out of favor Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes during the January transfer window.

The Portugal international could be set to leave the Spanish club either on loan or permanently in January in search of more regular playing time and Spurs may have to compete against the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and AS Monaco for his signature.

Gomes has so far only earned 118 minutes of first team game time at Barca this season and sits below the likes of Andreas Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic in the clubs pecking order.

He is however tested at the highest level having had a successful spell with Valencia and is versatile being able to operate as both a defensive and central midfielder.

This will make him a very attractive option for potential clubs. There is a good chance that Gomes will find a new club in the near future as he does not look to be part of Ernesto Valverde’s plans.
