West Ham United goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that his England career has so far not been a success and added that he is determined to try and change that.
Hart made his debut for the Three Lions in 2003 and has so far gone on to gain 73 caps for his country, serving as first choice during Euro 2012, the 2014 World Cup as well as Euro 2016.
The 30 year olds career appears to have taken a slump after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City by Pep Guardiola last season and spent last term on loan with Torino. He returned to England ahead of this season and joined West Ham on a season long loan deal.
Some have called for Hart to be dropped and replaced by either Jack Butland, Fraser Forster, Tom Heaton or Jordan Pickford.
Whilst reflecting on his England career thus far, Hart said, “It was something I didn’t need to dream about – because I didn’t think it was possible.
“The next thing after that is to do something with your England career and make it matter. I have failed up until now so I need to change that.”
