Bayern Munich could be set to be without veteran star Franck Ribery for their Champions League double header against Celtic this month.
The Former France international Ribery had to be taken off after 62 minutes during his team’s Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin this weekend.
He has reportedly torn a ligament in his left knee and will be out of action for the coming weeks. Whilst speaking after the game, Ribery said, “I’m in a lot of pain. The outer ligament is probably damaged. I hope it’s not any worse than that.”
The Bhoys first take on Munich in Germany on 18 October before the second match which will take place in Scotland on October 31st. Both sides are equal on three points from two games though Celtic are in third place due to an inferior goal difference.
Bayern will be the firm favorites to win both matches, however the German giants are not on the highest levels of confidence after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as manager last week and Brendan Rodgers men will look to capitalize on this.
