Southampton star Virgil van Dijk has said that Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool is one of the hardest players in the Premier League to play against along with Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.
The Dutch international van Dijk was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer. However in the end, the Saints refused to sell and the transfer negotiations where complicated by the fact that Liverpool had been found guilty of making an illegal approach for the player.
Considering that Jurgen Klopp’s side have so far been defending poorly this season, there is a strong chance that they will reignite their interest in Van Dijk either in January or next summer.
When talking about players that he has found it difficult to play against in the Premier League, Van Dijk said, “Sturridge, when he’s fit, he’s a great striker. Aguero is an amazing striker as well; small and quick.”
