In yet another disappointing performance, Everton failed to pick up a win against visiting Apollon Limassol on Thursday night in their 2nd game in the Europa League Group E fixtures.
A 2-2 draw, after the hosts battled back from a goal down only to be pegged back 2 minutes from time, means the Merseysiders risk being without European football in January as they are now bottom of the group with a point.
Everton have now become the first English side to pick up just one point after their first two Europa League group stage games, with pressure still on manager Ronald Koeman following a very active summer transfer for the club.
The Goodison Park outfit now face their toughest tests in the group when they face Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais in the next 2 games.
However, they could take solace in the fact that the French side are also yet to win thus far, with their 2 draws hinting at an open group as far as qualifications for the next round goes.
Meanwhile, fans weren’t in anyway pleased with Everton’s draw against the Cyprus side, though, and some of them took to Twitter to express their worries, disappointments and surprises.
Being an Everton fan is gonna be a proper graft this season isn’t it? Like even more than usual I mean. Be arsed.

Drove all the way back from the match with my handbrake on, just wanted to feel what it’s like playing for Everton

Fair play Ronald Koeman. Everton spent £142m this summer and have somehow become considerably worse. Takes some doing, that.

Imagine thinking Ancelotti would coach Everton. He’d arrive, briefly watch them train, then light a cigar and never return to England again.

Full time. Everton draw 2-2 against a team from Cyprus whose name I’ve already forgotten how to spell.
