Everton boss Ronald Koeman slams ridiculous claims

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has dismissed “ridiculous” speculation which has suggested that his job could be on the line. The Merseyside club started off the season on a disappointing note after taking just four points from their opening five games.

This led to the Dutch boss gaining criticism for his methods with some even suggesting that he could potentially be the next boss to get sacked and follow in the footsteps of fellow Dutchman Frank de Boer who became the first manager of the season to be sacked after Crystal Palace opted to part ways with him.

The Toffees did however claim two morale boosting victories this week after defeating Sunderland 3-0 during a Carabao Cup encounter before claiming a much needed 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Koeman said after his sides win against the Cherries, “For me, the players, for everyone it is important. Everyone knew it was a must-win game.

“Sometimes we go too fast – if you win you are sure about your job and if you lose you are not sure about your job, but that is ridiculous.”
