Rangers risk losing star man to English clubs next summer

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos can’t stop scoring, and the Scottish Premiership highest goalscorer at the moment will only continue to attract suitors to himself if he maintains his lethargic form in front of goal.

From the look of things, he can and he will. The 21-year-old Colombian is gradually warming his way into the hearts of the Rangers faithful after making it 6 strikes in as many games with his opening goal during the 2-2 dram at Partick Thistle on Friday.

As per The Scotsman, scouts from Aston Villa, Barnsley, Bristol City, Derby County and Reading, were in attendance at the Firhill Stadium to watch Morelos first-hand.

Despite banging in 46 goals in 62 matches for Finnish topflight’s HJK Helsinki, not many imagined the South American would hit the ground running in Scotland upon agreeing a three-year deal with Rangers in the summer.

Morelos has a personal ambition for the season – to score his way into contention for a spot in Colombia’s 2018 World Cup squad, and that is providing him with more than enough inspiration to keep firing on all cylinders.

Rangers can expect more preying eyes on their star man every other game till the campaign ends, and it remains to be seen if they’d be able to hold on to him once (and not if) the big-spending clubs come calling.
