Match Preview

Necaxa has been one of the more surprising teams in the Liga MX Apertura 2017, currently in eighth place with 12 points. Los Rayos lost their last game 1-0 against Monterrey away from home but were undefeated in three consecutive games before that loss. The defense has been very rigid for Ignacio Ambriz with a formidable goalkeeper, Marcelo Barovero in between the sticks as well.

The major problem for Necaxa that may impede the team from Aguascalientes from going far in this competition is a consistent goalscorer. While several different players have contributed to Necaxa’s success there is yet to be one standout player which can both favor and hurt the club. Ignacio Ambriz has a well-balanced team and should be able to get the three points from this game against a fragile Puebla side.

Puebla has arguably been the worst team in the Liga MX Apertura 2017, currently, last with only six points after eight games. Los Camoteros have not won in three consecutive games and are coming off an unimpressive scoreless draw against Cruz Azul at home. La Franja was inclusively eliminated from making the playoffs in the Copa MX competition and it seems like the days are counted for manager Rafael Garcia. There are some new signings with Puebla that may help make an impact with the team like Jhon Mondragon and Lucas Cavallini but the team is looking dismal at the moment. This will be a very tough game for Rafael Garcia’s side especially away from home but the game should still be entertaining.
