Everton star Wayne Rooney could be set to receive a £320,000 fine from his club after being charged with drink driving on Friday.

The 31-year-old was pulled over while driving a black Volkswagen Beetle and was then taken to a police station in Middlewich where he was questioned by police officers and charged.

There is no doubt that the Everton hierarchy will be unhappy with the latest behavior of Rooney, who is no stranger to controversy.

The club could fine him two weeks wages as punishment.  Considering that Rooney is older now, the Merseyside club will be disappointed at his behavior and also that he has brought the club into disrepute.

Rooney was reported to be driving an office worker home who was reportedly ‘too drunk to drive’. This event coming after he was spotted drinking with Wes Brown and the brother of Phil Bardsley at the Bubble Room bar in Cheshire.
