Match Preview
Wales is currently undefeated but only has eight points after a win and five draws from six games. The Dragons lone win came against Moldova at home in a dominant 4-0 victory display in the first match day of the competition.
Of course, Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale has been spectacular in these qualifiers with four goals so far. Wales does have a very solid squad that is all based in England with the exception of Gareth Bale. Wales arguably has a better side than Austria and should be able to pick up the three points from the match especially with the home-field advantage.
Austria also has eight points but is not undefeated, currently with two wins, two draws and two losses after six games. The two wins for Das Team came against Georgia and Moldova, the two weakest teams in the group while the two draws came against Wales and the Republic of Ireland. Manager Marcel Koller counts with a talented squad with the strongest component of the team being the midfield.
The rigid midfield has players like David Alaba, Julian Baumgartlinger and Zlatko Junuzović that should make this game very interesting. There is no clear winner heading into this game as the last time these two teams played each other the game resulted in an exciting 2-2 result.
