Newcastle United boss Benitez reportedly expresses interest in West Ham move

The Telegraph has claimed that Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez will “express some interest” in the West Ham managerial role should Slaven Bilic end up getting sacked.

Bilic is under immense pressure as his side have lost their opening three games of the season and failed to register a point. Should the East London club lose to Huddersfield during their next League fixture, it will be hard to see the Croatian at the helm of the club for long.

Benitez has publically criticized the Magpies board for failing to grant him sufficient funds to make new squad additions and he may be tempted by a move to the Hammers who may give him more capital for squad development.

Should Benitez end up leaving St James Park, it will definitely add to the already existing frustrations that many fans of the club have towards owner Mike Ashley.

Benitez has been one of the best managers that the club has had in years and losing him could be detrimental.
